6 in the Chamber: Slot Overview

Reach for yer gun pardner! The team at Lucksome has certainly reached for theirs for the futuristically Western-themed online slot 6 in the Chamber. Now, we know how populous the Western slot category is, as if these sorts of games have a bizarre psychological pull, constantly drawing in casino game makers and players alike. Within the genre resides a huge range of options, from the good to the bad to the ugly. However, if you think you've seen all there is to see in this dusty part of the iGaming domain, think again because Lucksome has poured some serious thinking into 6 in the Chamber to produce a monster of a game that rough riders within its scope will no doubt be hopping to duel with.

For starters, there's Lucksome's approach to the theme. Instead of being straight Western, where players step back to the 18 or 1900s, they step forward in time to some sort of steampunk/cyberpunk Western scene. It's a bit like the cult classic series Firefly, which was set in the year 2517, and saw a motley renegade crew of starfarers making a living on the frontier, but where the frontier is in outer space. Pretty epic show; shame it only lasted 1 season. Anyway, 6 in the Chamber is a bit like that, not a million miles away from a mix of Money Train 2 and Money Train 3. The gaming takes place in a futuristic town apparently called Miracle City, set somewhere in the cosmos, adorned with sprinklings of neon, while a hand holding a pistol hovers on the right. The pistol ain't just for show, either. Start hitting wins, and it might start spraying lasers about the place.

We've said it before, and we'll say it again, as well as arming players with a laser pistol, Lucksome arms them with a wealth of statistical information. Volatility can shift around depending on things like feature buy/choice, but overall, this is a highly volatile slot. RTP varies, too, from a default value of 96.06%, rising to 96.21% when activating the Hunter Side Bet or 96.05% to 96.29% when buying a bonus. 6 in the Chamber has a ton of features and rules to digest, though interestingly, its grid set-up is about as straightforward as it gets. With 5 reels and 4 rows, players get 10 fixed paylines for landing winning combinations on.

Literal playing cards make up the low pay symbols with 10, J, Q, K and duelling pistols imprinted on them, then a bottle of whiskey, bundles of money, a sharp shooting lady, a man with a bow, and a sheriff are the high pay symbols. Landing a full 5-of-a-kind win pays 2.5 to 10 times the bet for the lows and 20 to 100 times the bet for the highs. Sheriff badges are wild and may be used to substitute any regular pay symbol.

6 in the Chamber: Slot Features

One of the first things you'll want to do is decide whether you want to play 6 in the Chamber in Hunter Mode or not, which alters a lot of the game. Cascades are the next important feature to knock off, followed by things like Ricochet Wilds, the free games features, Scatter Wilds, Bonus Buys, and the Bonus Feature Exchange.

Hunter Mode

Flicking Hunter Mode on increases the stake by 50%. Increased Bounty values can appear in Hunter Mode, and with Hunter Mode on is how Hunter Free Games may be naturally triggered.

Cascades

Each symbol in a winning combo is removed from the reels by the cascade feature and replaced by symbols cascading from above. Each cascade win in the base can earn a shot from the pistol. The first two shots may add Ricochet Wilds to the reels; the remaining 4 shots can hit Bounty Wins, which award prize values. Bounty values can change after each spin and are displayed above the reels. In free spins, Ricochet Wilds are guaranteed after the first and second cascade wins.

Free Games

During free spins, bigger bounties are available, including Large and X-Large Bounties, which require 2 shots to win. The biggest bounties are available in Hunter Free Games. When landing 3+ scatters with Hunter Mode switched off, players can select:

  • Rookie Free Games, which have the lowest volatility and a max win of 20,000x.
  • Elite Free Games, with higher volatility and a max win of 50,000x the bet.

In Elite, there is a chance of more spins, and dead spins increase the value of bounty values. In free games, Ricochet Wilds are guaranteed on the first two cascades.

Hunter Mode Free Games

Landing 3, 4, or 5 scatters in Hunter mode awards 6, 8, or 10 free spins, respectively. In this mode, the biggest bounties are technically available.

Wild Symbol, Ricochet Wild and Scatter Wilds

Ricochet Wilds are wilds that replace pay symbols on the reels and may trigger after the first and second cascade wins. If a Ricochet Wild lands on a bonus scatter symbol, it converts it into a scatter wild, able to act as both things. If a Ricochet Wild replaces a wild symbol, extra wild symbols replace the adjacent symbols, one position above, below, and to the sides of the original wild.

Track Your Bounty Record

This is a way of tracking which Bounties characters have hit from the Bounty Board. It displays the number of each Bounty Character hit and won, plus the biggest win from each character.

Bonus Buy

The feature buy has 3 buy options. These are 6-10 Rookie spins for 65 times the bet, 8+ Elite spins for 80 times the bet, or 10 Hunter Spins for 150 times the bet.

Feature Exchange

On game round wins of 100x the bet for more, the Feature Exchange appears. Players can collect their winnings or gamble them on a Special Super Free Games extra, where the top Buffalo Bill award is guaranteed to land from the start of the round and remain locked. Players choose their mode from the feature exchange from the three options available – Rookie, Elite or Hunter. It's important to note here that operators have the option to turn off the Hunter Mode and thus cut the max win potential from 100,000x to 50,000x.

6 in the Chamber: Slot Verdict

Well, golly gee whizz, that was a lot to cover, but it's interesting because when you cut through the fine print, 6 in the Chamber actually isn't super complicated, at heart. It's just there are a lot of extra bits to decide whether to participate in, engage in, and get a handle on. Or you could just ignore the rules altogether, dive in raw, and cut straight to the shooting. Hopefully, a lot of shooting occurs because that could mean you're powering through cascade sequences to get to those Bounties, which, depending on several factors, might be quite large indeed. One may wonder if there are almost too many factors determining 6 in the Chamber's possible outcomes, though. It's not the sort of game where anyone, no matter the bet selection, can just pound the play button and possibly go all the way. Well, 6 in the Chamber is like that, but if you want the chance to squeeze every last drop of potential out of 6 in the Chamber, you'll have to stump up for the Hunter Side Bet.

This is when 6 in the Chamber opens up to its full 100,000x max winning potential (if enabled by the operator, as mentioned above), which is what the game feels like it was really designed to do. So much so some may wonder why Lucksome added the Hunter Side Bet option in the first place. Options are always good, though, don't get us wrong, but it also states in the game info that the top Buffalo Bill bounty is worth '100,000 x base bet'. That sounds a bit different than 100,000 times the total bet, and while multiplied by the base bet is still a massive prize, it's not as massive as it might have been. It's a little confusing, though not really an issue when buying the Hunter Bonus Round, presumably.

Titanic numbers might be 6 in the Chamber's headliner, yet the vehicle for them is no less impressive. A bit sluggish for some, perhaps, what with all the shooting animations and chonk load of options, but hey, this is the West (a spacey version), so no shock there's shooting in there somewhere, and the game world displays a huge amount of creativity on Lucksome's part. 6 in the Chamber might be a bit fiddly for players who prefer the relentless pace of competitors like Deadwood, Tombstone RIP, or Dead or Alive 2, yet there's one-of-a-kind gaming here with colossal rewards for successful gunslingers to take home.

Great

If you’d thought you’d seen all the Western slot genre had to offer, prepare to have your Stetson blown off while loading up 6 in the Chamber.
